Community Transformation

Community Transformation is one of the major initiatives at APG. To conceptualize and deliver this initiative, we believe in generating awareness, fostering and building strong partnerships and commit ourselves to public service. We would like to invite and incorporate the active participation of the global citizens of our societies to ensure that our initiative on Community Transformation can make real progress. APG has a strong ecosystem of various Foundations and Networks. Through this, we foster public awareness and help meet urgent community needs.

At APG, our aim is to drive and deliver tangible and sustainable solutions to problems in the areas of Agricultural Development, Water & Sanitation, Nutrition, Education, Healthcare and Women Empowerment. The intend and the objective is to bring significant change in a distressed community. Through Community Transformation, we model and assist fund for natural calamities, vocational training, youth and women’s development programs.

The Poona School and Home for the Blind was established in the year 1934 as a boy's school only. A separate school for blind girls came into existence in the year 1974. Soon thereafter, a vocational training centre for girls was established in order to make them self-sufficient in the outside world. Training these students for self-employment and rehabilitation was the objective of starting this blind school.

The Tanishka Women’s Network is a community based network that is committed to the cause of upholding women’s dignity and mainstreaming their role and responsibility in the social and economic transformation of society.

Founded on April 11, 2013, the network today has a membership base of more than 110,000 members in Maharashtra, India. The broad areas in which the network actively conducts projects are land rights, education, health, water and sanitation, environment, livelihoods, leadership and public participation in governance.

The objective of YIN is to integrate the youth as a dynamic force in nation transformation, ensuring direct outcome through tangible results. Today, the Young Inspirators Network has more than 1.6 million members.

Mahan Rastra Network

Mahan Rastra Network

The Mahan Rashtra Network (MRN) is an inclusive network of local leaders from across the state of Maharashtra. Launched on 1st December 2016, thousands of local leaders and change-makers have registered with the network and the numbers are growing day by day. The network has been instrumental in collating the expectations of citizens across the state. As next steps, DCF Advisory will enable the decision makers in the government machinery to take cognizance of these expectations and include them in schemes and initiatives through the Chief Minister’s Transformation Councils.
Today, more than 8400 Forum has been formed with 1,08,596 member registrations.
